The Ennex Companies
Brief Background and History

Copyright © 2003, Ennex Corp.. All rights reserved.

The trade name, Ennex, was coined by Marshall Burns in 1975 by combining the English letters n and x. In ordinary high school algebra, the letter n is commonly used to represent a given, known, quantity. Similarly, x is usually used for an unknown. Together, the letters n and x are intended to represent the infinite potential available from combining what is known with what is not yet known, from combining knowledge with imagination. This is the meaning of Ennex.

Ennex Corp., Ontario (Canada) corporation, established 1975. Ennex Corp. was the platform for a number of entrepreneurial businesses, both no-tech and mid-tech, in Toronto including Translove Airways (postal courier service) and Channel One Productions (instant-replay photography studio).

Ennex Technology Marketing, Inc., Texas corporation, established 1982. EnnTech took over the PC clone business of Marshall Burns Computer Sales when the company moved from Pasadena, California to Austin, Texas.

Ennex Fabrication Technologies, sole proprietorship, 1991. EnnFab began the Ennex business in digital fabrication and continues to hold the patents and other intellectual property on Offset Fabbing.

Ennex Corporation, California corporation, 1998. Ennex Corporation assumed most of the consulting and R&D work of EnnFab.
